Better rules to software

Adam Cogen was interviewed on .NET Rocks and talked about his company's rules to better software development. This likes like a really good resource. They have a rule for about everything. I liked it that Adam is very pragmatic about the rules. He claims that a lot of time is wasted and so projects are more expensive because developers waste time on the same problems over and over again (like how big buttons should be). There is no right or wrong for a lot of these but the software is a lot better when everyone follows the same rules. I'll need to check out their Code Auditor product they have to enforce these rules. It's a lot like FxCop but for the source instead of the compiled assembly.
